Five simple strategies to sharpen your critical thinking | BBC Ideas

We’re lucky to live in an age where the sum total of human knowledge

is pretty much available at the click of a button.

We’ve never had access to so much information.

But not all of what’s out there is quite what it seems.

So here’s a few strategies to navigate your way through.

And avoid falling out with people along the way.

We all enjoy that sweet dopamine hit of feeling like we’re right.

In repeated experiments, psychologists have shown

we’re much more likely to accept something as evidence

if it confirms what we already think we know.

And much more likely to discount information

if it contradicts our views.

It’s what’s known as “confirmation bias”.

It’s one of the key “cognitive biases” that humans have,

and it operates at an unconscious level -

affecting our ability to process information.

This is especially true for issues which are emotionally charged,

or where our views are deeply held.

But it can come into play at any time.

So don’t rush to decide,

and be actively prepared to change your mind.

So many of our discussions take place on social media platforms

where algorithms reward our desire to see and hear our views confirmed.

But in life, most situations are nuanced and complicated –

acknowledging that can enrich the way that we view the world.

For example, what colour is the sky? Well, the obvious answer is blue.

But at sunrise or sunset, it can be red.

On a cold misty morning, white or grey.

At night, midnight blue or black.

But imagine for a moment the blue of the sky on a sunny day.

Is it really blue?

The colour blue has a short wavelength,

meaning it scatters more than other colours -

making it more visible to the human eye.

So the sky looks blue to us humans,

even though there’s a whole spectrum of colours out there.

Even something that seems totally self-evident

can be more nuanced than you think.

One approach to, well, arguing,

is to let go of the idea of being “right”.

Or at least seriously consider that you might actually be wrong.

Putting yourself in the other person’s shoes

can lead to much more productive outcomes.

Really try to understand where the other person is coming from.

It’s what’s called “intellectual empathy”.

It can be challenging, but that’s the point.

This can only work when both parties are engaging in good faith.

Arguing just to waste somebody’s time,

known online as “sea lioning”,

not only makes you that guy or girl people avoid at parties,

but we are intellectually, socially and politically worse off for it.

It’s more important than ever

to know where your information is coming from.

That sciency-looking graph about the dangers of feral Dalmatian puppies

might look very convincing, until you dig a little deeper

and find it was commissioned by fur-coat-coveting

Disney villain, Cruella de Vil.

Be on the lookout for ulterior motives and vested interests.

Becoming literate in the basics of scientific methodology,

the use of data and the way it’s presented

are all weapons in your arsenal when it comes to critical thinking.

Whether engaging in online debates or arguing with Uncle Frank,

it’s very easy to lose our cool and resort to some

less-than-sound tactics.

One common tactic is what philosophers call,

“The Straw Man” fallacy.

Instead of engaging with the actual belief,

you engage with a caricature.

For example, if I said, “I prefer hamsters to gerbils,”

you might respond, “Oh, so you want to drown all gerbils?”

A viewpoint that’s much easier to take down.

Another fallacy is the “ad hominem fallacy”,

where you discount an argument

because of your opinion of the person making it.

This can lead to ad hominem attacks,

which is basically Latin for name-calling.

In that situation, it’s fair to say that everybody loses.

Engaging in critical thinking isn’t as fun as picking up a pitchfork,

or feeling like you’re fundamentally right.

But in the long run, it leads to a more curious,

educated and harmonious society,

which ultimately is the biggest win of all.

A Simple Trick on How to Save Up A Lot of Money Fast

a simple trick that will teach you how

to save money. if only I could stop

spending money on stuff I don't need I

would buy so many useful things. have you

ever thought this? then this video is

just for you. there is a simple and

efficient way to save money and as a

bonus we'll show you the worst places to

hide your emergency cash.

rule number one

zero out your money every evening, it's

pretty easy you have to zero out the

unspent money every evening.for instance

you decided to zero out two,  one zero in

the evening you have five hundred and

thirty two dollars in cash two thousand

four hundred and twenty five dollars,

available on your bank card what you

should do,

subtract the last digit from each number

to get a zero at the end it's easier to

zero out cash into a piggy bank and you

may use a savings account or any other

bank account to transfer the money from

your card.for example five hundred and

thirty two dollars minus 2 dollars

equals five hundred and thirty dollars.

two thousand four hundred and twenty

five dollars minus five dollars equals

two thousand,  four hundred and twenty

dollars.you may also zero out two more

zeros for example,  two to five hundred

and thirty-two dollars minus thirty-two

dollars , equals five hundred dollars two

thousand four hundred and twenty five

dollars , minus twenty five dollars equals

two thousand four hundred dollars.

rule number two move any unspent money

to your saving account,  save everything

that's left over before payday. zero out

one more time at the end of the month.

for instance you still have three

hundred dollars in cash and one thousand

dollars in the bank,  just move it to your

savings account.

what are the advantages

of this simple method here,  they are you

know how much money you have every

morning and it's always a round number

you start to control your spendings

and stop buying crap.most importantly

you actually

save money,  and finally here's our bonus

the 8 worst places to hide your cash.

people have many reasons why they don't

use a bank and instead hide their cash

at home. are you one of those who keep

their emergency savings under the

mattress? if you are , we want to warn you

that keeping money stashed around the

house is not always safe. 1 in the

backyard,

burying your cash in the backyard is not

a good idea for three simple reasons,

your neighbor might see you hiding it. if

your pet loves digging holes it can

easily find your money buried in the

ground .your rainy day fund may be ruined

by rain.

- under your mattress

although hiding your dollars under the

mattress has become a classic,  don't

think that keeping your cash there is a

good idea just because you sleep on it.

when you're not at home it'll be the

first place for thieves to check.

3 in

shopping bags, even if thieves don't look

for your savings and random shopping

bags, they might need them to carry the

stuff they stole and you don't want to

give them another pleasant surprise.

right for in old wallets and handbags

don't put your emergency cash in your

old wallets and handbags even if you

don't use them anymore.it doesn't mean

they are a good place to keep the money.

5. in laundry baskets, you might think

it's a good idea to keep your money in

the basket for dirty clothes,  an object

that no one would want to touch

however thieves use those baskets to

transport stolen objects,  so sometimes a

laundry basket is exactly what they need.

6. behind a picture or photo in a frame.

another classic thieves watch the same

movies as the rest of us and they won't

hesitate to check such sneaky places

even if it means breaking your most

precious memories.

7.and safes that are

not bolted down, it doesn't matter if

it's small or large your safe is useless.

if the thieves can carry it it's a good

idea to bolt your safe down so that it

is difficult to move and carry a wall a

floor

even a piece of furniture will do fine.

[Music]

eight in drawers and cabinets.

neither drawers nor closed cabinets are

safe to keep your money in. thieves often

have screwdrivers and crowbars with them

so close pieces of furniture are among

the places they check first.if you feel

like you have run out of places to hide

your money try the following suggestions,

wrap your money in a plastic bag and

tape it to the bottom of the kitchen

counter , pour it to the bottom of your

kids toy box the best option is to

create a false bottom in it in a

waterproof containers stored in the

lowest drawer of your refrigerator,  or

freezer. make sure it doesn't read ice

cream or something else,  yummy thieves

might want to try hide your savings

among buttons threads and other sewing

accessories unless the , if suddenly need

to sew something they most probably

won't look for your money in there in a

pair of old shoes clothes or maybe in an

old computer that no longer works.

 make

sure it all looks like junk you have not

disposed of yet , so are you saving money

for anything important let us know in

the comments. what you're saving up for

A Complete Guide To Goal setting

When it comes to chasing our dreams the only way I know to track our progress is to create

milestones.

Milestones show us what we are accomplishing and allow us to see how we accomplish even

more.

If you have stopped to read any of the statistics or articles on goal setting before, you will

have read two things.

People without goals are not as successful as they hope to be.

People who don’t write down goals are less likely to accomplish them.

What I have found over the last 10 years of dream chasing is how important goals are in

the grand picture of seeing your dreams come true.

Goals give us momentum to push through adversity we experience while chasing our dreams.

This year, there was a huge push not to set goals.

People were sharing about how terrible they felt last year when they failed to meet their

goals or how they never really followed through with achieving them.

So, should we even set goals to try to see our dreams come true?

YES!

The problem for so many people is that they haven’t created goals which will help them

succeed.

And their inability to follow through because of fear or poor goal creation holds them back.

This was me about ten years ago.

I would set goals at the beginning of the year, and then never go back and look at them.

I would have these really vague, general ideas of things I wanted to accomplish, but never

create action steps or any plans to achieve anything.

This is why goals fail.

You have probably heard of the SMART goal system.

This is a great system.

In fact, when I finally got tired of never accomplishing my goals, I learnt about it

and started to see some of my goals achieved.

And then, I learned about the “ER” in goal setting.

Let’s start putting some goals together using the SMARTER System.

Specific - Sounds pretty simple right?

Just write something down that is specific.

The question is: how specific do I need to be?

The answer: the more specific you are, the easier it will be to quantify your results

along the way.

For example, if you want to lose weight, to be more specific, how much weight do you want

to lose?

Better yet, what weight would you like to be at the end of pursuing your goal?

A specific goals says this: I will weigh 200 lbs.

We want to quantify our goals.

To make a goal measurable, we need to be able to see progress over time.

Say your goal is to write a novel.

How do we make it measurable?

You will need to make it very specific and measurable by going into more detail which

you can track.

A specific goal for writing a novel is: I will complete writing a 50,000 word novel.

Every goal should be actionable in terms of getting somewhere.

However, when writing goals, we are talking about writing it as an action.

A goal is actionable when it is immediately clear what action needs to be taken to accomplish

it.

A simple way to make items actionable is to begin them with a verb.

So try this: I will read 24 books.

The ‘R’ in the equation is relevant or relatable.

Is your goal relevant or relatable to your life?

When you are setting goals, this is the pragmatic look at what you want to do.

When you set a goal you need to think about your current situation.

Some people will tell you to make a ‘10X Goal,’ create a goal that is nearly impossible

to force you to stretch yourself.

While I think this is good, it's not for the first timer, or for someone struggling at

their goals.

You need to create goals you can accomplish at your stage in life.

Are you a father of three small children who works two jobs?

You may not be able to workout 3 hours a day if you want to reach 3% body fat.

Try this: I will decrease my percent body fat by 10%,

my start percent is X.

Every goal needs a deadline.

Why?

So you are forced to take action in a certain timeframe.

Simply saying you will do something isn’t good enough.

You need to say when you will complete it.

This way you will need to map your path to success.

Otherwise, you will always have the goal but never have urgency to accomplish it.

Going back to the novel example: I will write a 50,000 word novel by December

31st.

Evaluate - This is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to your goals.

We need to regularly evaluate our progress.

When I ask people how often they looked at their goals, they say “A few times over

the year.”

This is why people fail at their goals.

I evaluate my goals every month and every week I read them.

This helps me to remember what I am trying to do and makes sure I take action every week.

If there is anything you do differently about your goals, this needs to be it.

Reward - Every goal and milestone needs a reward.

We love getting something for a job well done.

And when we are working towards our dreams, these little earned items help us to celebrate

our milestones and be ready for the next step.

Here is an example of a reward for paying off debt:

Pay off debt by December 31st.

Buy one thing for $100 you would never buy for yourself.

You may have really struggled with goals before.

And if you’re like me, you might have even failed all of the goals you set for yourself

in a year.

But this doesn’t have to be true of you anymore.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change

the ending.”

- C.S.

Lewis I love this quote because it reminds me how

the goals we set for ourselves now, no matter our age or station in life, will help us change

our story in the end.

They will help us chase our dreams and see them come true.

3 tips to boost your confidence - TED-Ed

When faced with a big challenge

where potential failure seems to lurk at every corner,

maybe you've heard this advice before:

"Be more confident."

And most likely, this is what you think when you hear it:

"If only it were that simple."

But what is confidence?

Take the belief that you are valuable, worthwhile, and capable,

also known as self-esteem,

add in the optimism that comes when you are certain of your abilities,

and then empowered by these,

act courageously to face a challenge head-on.

This is confidence.

It turns thoughts into action.

So where does confidence even come from?

There are several factors that impact confidence.

One: what you're born with, such as your genes,

which will impact things like the balance of neurochemicals in your brain.

Two: how you're treated.

This includes the social pressures of your environment.

And three: the part you have control over,

the choices you make,

the risks you take,

and how you think about and respond to challenges and setbacks.

It isn't possible to completely untangle these three factors,

but the personal choices we make certainly play a major role

in confidence development.

So, by keeping in mind a few practical tips,

we do actually have the power to cultivate our own confidence.

Tip 1: a quick fix.

There are a few tricks that can give you an immediate confidence boost

in the short term.

Picture your success when you're beginning a difficult task,

something as simple as listening to music with deep bass;

it can promote feelings of power.

You can even strike a powerful pose or give yourself a pep talk.

Tip two: believe in your ability to improve.

If you're looking for a long-term change,

consider the way you think about your abilities and talents.

Do you think they are fixed at birth,

or that they can be developed, like a muscle?

These beliefs matter because they can influence how you act

when you're faced with setbacks.

If you have a fixed mindset,

meaning that you think your talents are locked in place,

you might give up,

assuming you've discovered something you're not very good at.

But if you have a growth mindset and think your abilities can improve,

a challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Neuroscience supports the growth mindset.

The connections in your brain do get stronger and grow with study and practice.

It also turns out, on average,

people who have a growth mindset are more successful,

getting better grades,

and doing better in the face of challenges.

Tip three: practice failure.

Face it, you're going to fail sometimes.

Everyone does.

J.K. Rowling was rejected by twelve different publishers

before one picked up "Harry Potter."

The Wright Brothers built on history's failed attempts at flight,

including some of their own,

before designing a successful airplane.

Studies show that those who fail regularly and keep trying anyway

are better equipped to respond to challenges and setbacks

in a constructive way.

They learn how to try different strategies,

ask others for advice,

and perservere.

So, think of a challenge you want to take on,

realize it's not going to be easy,

accept that you'll make mistakes,

and be kind to yourself when you do.

Give yourself a pep talk, stand up, and go for it.

The excitement you'll feel knowing that whatever the result,

you'll have gained greater knowledge and understanding.

This is confidence.

How to improve your English speaking skills (by yourself)

I think you already know that if you want to improve your English speaking skills, you

have to practice, right?

You have to speak.

Studying grammar will never improve your speaking.

Listening to English alone will never improve your speaking.

You have to actually speak.

But what if you don't have someone to talk to in English?

How can you practice then?

Well, there's a technique that allows you to learn to speak English by yourself.

No speaking partner is required.

This technique can help improve many aspects of your spoken English: your sentence structure,

your grammar, your vocabulary, and most importantly, your ability to express your thoughts and

ideas effectively.

So what is this technique?

Well, here's what it is...

Learning to speak English through imitation.

When I say imitation, I'm not talking about repeating after native speakers using the

exact same words to improve your pronunciation.

I'm talking about something a little more advanced than that.

Here's how it works: you listen to a conversation, a story, or some kind of speech, and then

try to deliver that speech in your own words.

Let's see this technique in action:

When I was a child

When he was a child

my parents liked to pretend, like many other parents

his parents liked to pretend, like many other parents

that Santa Claus would bring us presents at Christmas.

His parents liked to pretend that Santa Claus would bring them presents at Christmas.

So when my siblings and I would wake up on Christmas morning

So when he and his siblings would wake up on Christmas morning

there'd be a bunch of presents, from supposedly Santa Claus, sitting in front of the fireplace.

there'd be a bunch of presents, from supposedly Santa Claus, sitting in front of the fireplace.

So that's how it works.

But that's just one way to do it.

There're other ways too.

For example, instead of imitating small portions of speech like phrases and short sentences,

you can imitate larger portions of speech.

So in this case, you wait until the speaker completes a thought or an idea, then pause

and try to express that idea yourself.

Another approach is to simply listen to the whole speech and then try to deliver that

entire speech yourself.

So there are several ways to go about it, but what I recommend is to combine them all

together, and I call this approach easy-to-hard imitation.

Easy-to-hard imitation is based on the concept of progressive training.

The idea is that you start with something easy and then increase the difficulty of the

activity, forcing yourself to get better.

A number of studies have found this kind of training to be very effective.

Here's how you can apply this concept: start by imitating small portions of speech first

like phrases and short sentences, then move on to imitating larger portions of speech

like long sentences or even groups of sentences, and finally, try to deliver the entire speech

on your own.

This technique offers many benefits.

You get to listen and imitate correct English, which helps you learn to form sentences properly.

You get to learn idioms, expressions, and other speaking patterns that are used in day-to-day

conversations.

you get to learn grammar.

When you imitate other people, you're learning grammar through a process called implicit

learning.

This is the process where the learning happens without your awareness.

This is how babies and children learn the grammar rules of their first language.

When you imitate, you don't think about grammar.

You're not trying to understand why the present perfect tense is used in this situation or

in that situation.

Instead, you're focused on communication — on understanding and expressing ideas.

You're still learning grammar but you're not aware that it's happening.

This is one of the proper ways to learn grammar.

OK, that concludes this video.

To help you get started, I've put together a step-by-step tutorial on this technique.

If you're interested, click here to go to that tutorial.

in this video i am going to teach you,

how to introduce yourself during a job

interview.

so if you've got a job interview coming

up for any role or any organization

whatsoever,

make sure you stay tuned because i will

help you to pass it and just very

quickly.

if you are new to this channel please

make sure you hit the subscribe button,

people as possible to pass their

interviews,

and i can only do that if you are

subscribed and don't forget to hit that

like button

because that motivates me to create more

content for you thank you very much.

okay let's get straight into the

tutorial and i will teach you

how to introduce yourself during a job

interview,  so within this presentation

i am going to cover three things,  first

of all i will give you some essential

tips

for getting your job interview off to a

flying start.

i will then tell you the four simple

things you must include

within your job interview introduction,

and i will then give you

an example scripted interview

introduction,

that you can use at the start of your

interview.

essential tip number one for getting

your interview

off to a flying start,  is to focus on

creating a positive

first impression and you can do that by

arriving

at the interview venue 20 minutes before

the

interview starts. this shows that you are

punctual

and you are organized. now when you

arrive at the interview venue

make sure you read your job interview

introduction,

which i will give to you in a second and

also.

Re-read the job description because by

reading these important documents,

it gets you relaxed and composed and it

makes sure that you are prepared for

what's to come

during your interview.

essential tip

number two,

for getting your interview off to a

flying start is to make sure that you

dress

professionally. how you dress says a lot

about your intentions for this job and

if you haven't dressed professionally,

what does it say to the interviewer? well

it tells the interviewer

that you don't care and you can't be

bothered and therefore,

why should they hire you.

Soo make sure

you dress

professionally for your interview,

because it says an awful lot

about your intentions for this role.

 An

essential tip number three,

is to make sure that throughout the

interview you have good posture,

you smile and you demonstrate really

good manners.

This is important. And how can you

demonstrate good manners during your

interview?

well right at the very start when you

first meet the interviewer,

say this "hi my name is richard and i'm

here today

for the interview thank you very much" so

just by saying that demonstrates

really good manners and don't forget, do

not sit down in the interview chair

until invited to do so.so once you're

sat down in the interview chair

the interviewer is going to say

something like "welcome to the interview,

can you start off by introducing

yourself" or they might say

"tell me about yourself now".

 Whenever you

introduce yourself

during an interview,  it's really

important that you include the following

four things, please make sure you take

notes. Number one

talk about the skills and qualities you

have that are a match

for the role you are applying for. Number

two

talk about any experience or

qualifications you possess

that are relevant to the position. Number

three

talk about any significant achievements

you have gained in work life or personal

life so far.

And then finally number four talk about

the type of person you are,

and what you are going to do in the role

if they hire you.

So you should include those four things

when introducing yourself during a job

interview.

And right now i am going to give you a

brilliant job interview introduction

script,

that you can use right at the start of

your interview so when the interviewer

says to you.

Introduce yourself. Here's a brilliant

script that you can use: here we go,

"thank you for giving me the opportunity

to be interviewed for this position

today,

now having studied the job description i

am confident

i have the skills,  the qualities and the

qualifications needed

to excel in the role. i am a fast learner

i possess excellent problem solving

capabilities,

and i can manage a significant workload.

i have an impressive track record of

achievement,

for example in my previous role i was

praised by my supervisor

for helping the company find ways to

increase sales,

by improving customer service standards.

now the type of person i am

means i will always act as a positive

role model for the company,

and i will make sure i take

responsibility for my ongoing

professional development,

now if you hire me in this position i

believe you will quickly see

a positive return on your investment".

That is a brilliant

example of a job interview introduction,

that you can use right at the start of

your interview.

so you now know exactly what to say at

the start of the interview,

when the interviewer says to you

introduce yourself.and if you want to

now learn

how to answer all of the tough interview

questions that are going to come your

way during your interview

How I grew a Digital Marketing company to twenty-seven employees

unfortunately the business we had,  then

we lost it.which meant that now is not

able to also sustain the employees.my

name is Fred Fred Kinsey the founder and

CEO of Belvoir digital.we are digital

marketing agency managing about 10 clans,

with about 27 staff members and we've

been doing this for the last five years.

so what we do is we, we refine digital

marketing to be able to drive more

results for businesses.so beyond just

growing a facebook pages and Twitter

platforms, we want to be able to drive

more customers for clients, want to

crease the sales. we want them to sign up

more cost more partners and so my

interpreter speech goes back to compass.

back then I'd run a printing shop and

after that,  I did computer science for

four years in Jake one in which after

that I landed fantastic opportunity at

Google.but at I left and worked for IBM

again had a very short steam stuff in

enduring not appeared,  I felt I you know

you only saw a burning fire. as an

interpreter is only something that you

wake up every morning and you feel I

need to do this and that's how velvety

straw was born for the first two three

years.

you as a business Eagles for toughest,

you know getting as many kinds you know

growing as the ones. I remember this day

just got an email from Microsoft saying

they're looking fine agency, I want to do

SME cabins in Kenya business East Africa

actually and they're looking for an

agency to be able to support them. so one

is I didn't have any contacts as a

Microsoft or this is this is felt like

vindication of the work being done for

the tears now people eventually know you,

and they can be able to to be able to

challenge you.

So we you know submitted a

proposal, we went for the pitch and we

won that count and this was fairly

against other in order to be big

agencies. in terms of managing

Millennials,  one you don't really manage

traditionally so Millennials don't try

it with setting barriers. if you put them

in a box that's where you lose it.so

here we unbox them we let them be we let

them understand most important thing for

us is KPIs.

So each of our employees

knows that they have responsibilities,

there are particular cons are they

manage they have their duties and it's

well defined and they know at the end of

you know a month or quarterly there's

been 12 acid on this provider to review.

Much has been done, I think it was 2014

they're about second year in business.

that first two people

the content person a copywriter a

developer. unfortunately the business we

had then we lost it which meant that now

is not able to also sustain the

employees.all right so we won this award

about three month ago,  the digital media

was won it for Lauria we did a very good

campaign for them for a product called

duck and lovely. very good work to the

team as well as to the big part of the

story.

So the future for us is is to to

grow into a marketing technology company,

we bring marketing very well but we want

to infuse it with tech.we've actually

built one of our first products,

it's called ad space Africa.

we are lying

advertisers to buy out those sites

online,  so you can go in you can compare,

you can book your site and then it can

be flighted.

16 HACKS to Become SMARTER in 7 DAYS | StudyWithKiki

Hey guys it's Kiki and today I'm going

to be showing you guys,  16 hacks to

become smarter without studying in 7

days.make sure to stick around for the

last hack, because it actually tells you

how to stop yourself from losing your

intelligence.

So without further ado

let's get on with the video.

the first hack is to take fish oil

capsules, fish oil is actually

scientifically proven to make you

smarter because eating foods rich in

omega-3 like fish oil capsules boosts

blood flow to the brain and improves the

brain performance during mental task.

The second hack is to drink plenty of

water. it is extremely important to stay

hydrated every single day

because according to researchers

students who drink lots of water to

better in exams and have better grades,

because water maximizes brainpower.

The third hack is to eat as healthy as

possible.make sure to have at least one

fruit or vegetable in every meal, because

if you eat healthy your body and brain

will thank you.

The fourth hack is to read whenever you

can.reading as many of you probably

already know increases your vocabulary

and also improves your writing, but the

best part about this hack is that you

can actually become smarter by reading

your favorite article or magazines.

anything that requires you to read and

comprehend will work.

 The fifth hack is

to do puzzles in your spare time. puzzles

are a great fun and effective way to

improve your problem-solving skills,  as

well as increasing your brainpower.what

if you have some time pull up a chair

and do some Sudoku or if you prefer

technology find a puzzle app that you

like.

[Music

The sixth hack is to do the number plate

game. this game is really simple and it's

great if you want to improve your mental

maths.basically all you do is take the

numbers of a number plate of a car you

see nearby and you try to make ten by

using addition subtraction

multiplication and division.

So for example if you have numbers for eight

and two you could do eight plus four

divided by two which makes ten.

 the seven

pack is to talk to smart people often so

this might sound really weird,  but this

is actually pretty helpful because when

you talk to smart people and I'm not

trying to be stereotypical here,  because

this is actually true you learn new

vocabulary as well as something useful

general knowledge.

 The eight pack is to

change the way you explain things. when

you explain things try your best to

explain things logically and more

explicit.try using some new or advanced

vocabulary to improve in your writing as

well as reading comprehension.

The ninth pack is to always try to pay attention

in class.I know this may be really

obvious but if you want to get good

grades without actually studying at home

try to pay as much attention as possible

in class.I have a video called twelve

hacks to stay focused in class so make

sure to go check it out I'll leave the

link and the description box down below.

The 10 pack is to listen to classical

music. listening to classical music has

so many benefits including maximizing

your brain power as well as things like

keeping your stress levels down. whenever

you have time listen to some Mozart or

Bach.

The 11 pack is to play an

instrument.this is kind of like an

add-on to the last hack but if you have

access to an instrument then go ahead

and play it.it is actually proven to

have so many benefits including making

you smarter.

The twelve pack is the limit

TV time.

if you can limit your TV time to an hour

or less per day and either go outside or

something away from technology.

The thirteenth pact is to stay positive try

to stay positive as much as possible,

because negativity actually impacts your

brain and your grades way more than you

actually think.try to look for the

positive side of things and always try

to think of the glass half full and not

half empty.

 The fourteenth pact is to

develop a new hobby.so this kind of

links with the hack I just mentioned but

having a hobby has so many benefits

including keeping you happy and

stress-free. so next time you find

yourself with a lot of free time do

something you enjoy or find something

new that you love.

The 15 pact is to get

enough sleep. I know I mentioned this all

the time like I swear I say this in

every single one of my videos but that

is because this is so important and this

is really overlooked by everyone. always

try to get eight hours sleep every day

even if this means going to bed half an

hour earlier than usual.

 The 16 pack is

do not multitask. this last hack doesn't

actually make you smarter but prevents

decay of your brain and stops you from

losing your intelligence. there are also

lots of consequences which come with

multitasking so avoided at all costs.

So hope you guys enjoyed. I would love to

know which hack was your favorite so let

me know in the comment section down

below.as always make sure to subscribe

give this video a thumbs up and comment

down below.what video you would like me

to do next bye guys happy studying.

10 Tips To Avoid Sleep While Studying | Exam Tips For Students

Hello friends exams are just a month away.

We hope you are well prepared.

And if not, you'll find many Concept related videos for your last-minute revision on our

Channel.

There are some exam tips and some paper presentation techniques to you may find the link in the

description below.

But that's all about preparation.

What happens after preparation?

What happens on the day of your examination?

What mistakes do we make do in our exams that, despite all our efforts and hard work, we

lose our marks.

So today I'm going to tell you six mistakes you should never do during your exams.

So let's get started.

The first one is, imagine that you're all ready and waiting outside your exam Hall.

There are just 15 minutes for you to enter the examination Centre.

And what do we do just before entering?

We open our books and start reading this.

My dear friends is the first mistake we make, do not keep reading till the last minute,

you will just keep getting more tensed.

And all that you are doing is that you're just checking, if you remember the points.

Trust me, my friends, you remember it all.

No need to confirm things again.

And again, instead of reading till the last minute, just take deep breaths and calm yourself

down, keep assuring yourself that you know it all.

Moving ahead during your for the most common mistake.

Students make is that they do not read the question paper correctly.

Please, please, please read your paper correctly.

Sometimes questions are asked with the word not.

And with all the tension in our head, we tend to skip that word, like, for example, there

might be a question that says which of these is not a rational number?

Did you notice the word not?

Yes, pay extra attention to that word in underline it in the question paper and answer it correctly.

Therefore, by avoiding such silly mistakes, you can score more, also pay attention to

the words like any 3 or anyone do not waste your time in answering all the questions,

save time and utilize it.

Well, and one more thing related to reading the questions well, is that please turn your

question paper and check if there are any more questions in the paper.

If you're in doubt, you may also ask your supervisor if the question paper is printed

on both sides or just one side.

Okay, let's move to the next one.

The next common mistake students make is that they skip questions and try to attempt it

later.

And that later never comes after finishing your paper.

You will forget that you have left to question in between.

If you do not know the complete answer to any question, and I wish to write it later,

then please Circle the question in your question paper with a pencil.

So when you finish writing your paper, you would remember to attempt that particular

question moving ahead.

The next mistake students make during exams is that they give up.

So I'm telling you today, never lose hope.

Never leave any question unanswered.

If it's a 5 mark question, and you know, only two to three points in the answer, I would

suggest you to write it, even if it's incomplete.

No problem.

It may fetch you at least one Mark.

1 So just write whatever little you know, every Mark counts do not leave questions without

attempting it.

The fifth mistake that students make is that they spend a lot of time just on one question,

if you get stuck anywhere, or you can't find the solution to a problem, then just leave

it that way and come back to it when you have some spare airtime divide the ours and the

marks in a logical way so that you can complete your entire paper.

And the last in the most important mistake students make is that they discuss their paper.

Yes, friends, you should never discuss your paper after it is done, no matter how bad

or good your paper went.

Please do not discuss it with anyone.

I'll tell you what happens.

So after discussing, if you find out your friends have written a different answer, you

would get stressed and worried unnecessarily.

This affects your performance for the next paper.

You constantly worried and pressurize yourself to score well in the coming papers.

But with tension in your mind, nothing good comes out of it.

So avoid discussing your paper.

So these my friends with a six mistakes you should never do during exams.

Lastly, I would like to say there's no secret bigger than hard work and determination.

Also keep believing in yourself and see the miracle happening.

Don't forget to check out our other exam related content for more tips.

Links are given in the description below also do like share and comment to tell us any specific

topic that you need help in.

Will try to help you out till then.

All the best for your exams.

Thank you.
